The VentSaver snow guard for stack pipes and chimneys can be fastened two ways. It can be screwed down through the roof panel into a structural support below or attached directly to the seam of a standing seam metal roof with the SS (Standing Seam) mounting plate. If you have a standing seam metal roof, it is not recommended that the VentSaver be screwed into the roof panel. Penetrating a standing seam metal roof panel will interfere with the thermal expansion required for the panels to float at varying temperatures. On screw-down applications, the VentSaver must be fastened through the roof into a structural member beneath the roof panel.
